Head Instructor - BJJ/MMA Commentator and Black Belt Instructor

Professor John Evans is a seasoned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and commentator.

His journey in the art of Jiu-Jitsu began in 2006, under the tutelage of the renowned Jean Jacques Machado. He has also trained under Shawn Williams of Hollywood BJJ and World Champion Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles.

Throughout his BJJ odyssey, John continued to explore his passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge with others. Within just two years of training, he began instructing and has since accumulated 16 years of experience in teaching grappling. His ability to deconstruct complex techniques and effectively communicate them to his students has led him to become an influential figure in the grappling community.

Some of the notable tournaments John has commentated on to date include Metamoris, Fight 2 Win, ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club), IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) Worlds, IBJJF Pans (Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship), IBJJF Masters Worlds, Nabjjf Worlds (North American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Worlds), Ultimate Mat Warriors, Abu Dhabi World Pro, Uaejjf Grand Slam Tokyo, Uaejjf Grand Slam Abu Dhabi, The Newaza Challenge, The Breakdown Invitational, Subversiv, and the monumental Spyder Invitational, where he solo commentated on the tournament with the highest prize purse in the history of the sport, a staggering $100,000 for 1st place.

As both a black belt instructor and a highly esteemed commentator, John Evans continues to inspire and educate the BJJ community with his passion, expertise, and commitment to elevating the sport he loves.
